Monday, April 23rd, 2018: Ricardo Sandoval demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the Nationalist League Player of the Week Award.
The Central Valley left fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .462 average (12-26) with 5 home runs and 6 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor.
This season Sandoval is batting .244 with 7 home runs. |

Monday, April 23rd, 2018: What a week it was for Mark Reese! The Wicker Park second baseman took Patriotic League Player of the Week honors after wearing out the pitchers with a .588 batting average in his recent games.
Reese registered 10 hits in 17 at-bats as he cracked 3 home runs and drove in 6 runs.
During the current season Reese is batting at a .345 clip with 5 home runs and 10 RBIs. He has played in 17 games and scored 9 times. |
 | Pride Pinelo Nails Down 300-th Save
Sunday, April 22nd, 2018: After the game the Potthole Pride outstanding reliever Alfonso Pinelo celebrated his 300th-career save by reminiscing about his first save. "I remember it clearly. I was a rookie and the last one standing in the bullpen in an extra-inning game. Our staff was worn to a frazzle and was desperate for a pitcher. So they put me in. I faced four batters, rung up the victory and took the first step toward 300 saves."
The 33-year-old Pinelo got number 300 by preserving the Pride 3-0 win over the Farmingdale Frunkus.
In 553 appearances Pinelo boasts a 34-57 career record with a 3.73 ERA. He has been credited with a save 300 times and opponents have a batting average of .304 against him. |
