| Breaking News |  | Saturday, November 15th, 2014: Greenville and Newcastle Agree to Deal
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Greenville 84s sent 22-year old third baseman Nick Dean to the Newcastle House of Brews for 36-year old left fielder Robert Davis.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
Davis has played in 1188 games with a .286 career batting average and 1329 hits. He also has scored 841 runs and driven in 601 runs with 184 home runs.

 | Monday, October 20th, 2014: Greenville Loses Herbert Christianson
After the end of today's game between Greenville and Newcastle, Herbert Christianson skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after throwing a pitch, the 84s had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The starting pitcher will miss at least 4 weeks with a strained elbow ligament.
Thus far this season Christianson has posted a 15-8 record, started 31 games, struck out 200 batters in 210 innings and compiled a 3.43 ERA.

"It was just one of those games, when everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Herbert Christianson said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."
The Greenville 84s pitcher really got it done in his 8-0 shutout victory over the Newcastle House of Brews, shutting them down on 4 hits. Christianson issued 1 walk and had 8 strikeouts.
In 31 starts this season Christianson has rung up a 15-8 record and a 3.43 ERA.
