| Breaking News |  | Friday, November 14th, 2014: PL Moonlight Graham Award Announced
What a debut it was for Muir's Bill McGee as this shining new star completed his first year in the Patriotic League. This outstanding newcomer put together good stats and good play to take the 2014 Moonlight Graham Award.
The 24-year-old first baseman crunched some good numbers with a .327 batting average and a .379 on-base percentage to go with his 26 home runs, 121 RBIs and 95 runs scored.
McGee will accept the SBWA trophy for the league's top rookie this weekend at the group's annual awards presentation.

| Wednesday, October 1st, 2014: McGee Voted September's Top PL Rookie
Swinging a hot stick in September, Bill McGee picked up the Patriotic League Rookie of the Month Award today.
The 23-year-old first baseman for Muir lashed 40 hits as he put together a .370 average with 8 home runs. He also drove in 28 runs, scored 28 times and drew 10 walks on his way to a .413 OBP.
This season McGee has 25 home runs and a .332 batting average.

 | Friday, September 26th, 2014: Meercats Montiel Sidelined for 2 Weeks
The Muir Meercats will have to make do without Alberto Montiel for 2 weeks. He suffered a damaged meniscus while making a defensive play in the game today against the Farmingdale Frunkus. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the left fielder. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." Montiel will miss 2 weeks.
Looking at his 2014 season stats, Montiel has compiled a .298 batting average in 139 games with a .398 on-base percentage, while hitting 15 home runs and driving in 69 runs.
