| Breaking News | | Monday, September 29th, 2014: NL Trophy Goes to Stell of Central Valley A battle-tested Floyd Stell declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 37-year-old Central Valley first baseman collected the Nationalist League Player of the Week Award.
He wrapped up the week with a .524 average, 11 hits in 21 at-bats, 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 5 runs scored.
So far this season Stell is hitting .277 with 22 home runs, 66 RBIs and 67 runs scored. He has 145 hits in 524 at-bats and a .357 OBP. | | Friday, September 26th, 2014: Hernández Brilliant, Blanks Moneymen Carlos Hernández of the Central Valley Turkey Vultures was on fire against New York. He shut them down 4-0 on 1 hit and no runs with 10 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Hernández said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
This season Hernández has a 6-13 record with a 3.97 ERA. | | Sunday, September 14th, 2014: Otis Rumored to be Unhappy in Central Valley Rumors circulating around town, say catcher Matthew Otis is not happy at all playing in Central Valley and that the Turkey Vultures are actively shopping him around. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | CF Byron Vega | bronchitis | one week | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 57-105, .352 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 55.0 GB | | Record at home | 30-51, .370 PCT | | Record on the road | 27-54, .333 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-9, .438 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 23-24, .489 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 9-37, .196 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 48-68, .414 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 8-13, .381 PCT | | Record in May | 9-20, .310 PCT | | Record in June | 11-17, .393 PCT | | Record in July | 11-14, .440 PCT | | Record in August | 8-20, .286 PCT | | Record in September | 10-18, .357 PCT | | Record in October | 0-3, .000 PCT |
