Breaking News Saturday, November 15th, 2014: Edenton Steamers and Moneymen Agree to Trade Officials for the Edenton Steamers confirmed that they have traded 22-year old reliever Earl Grant, 20-year old reliever Dan Hanson, 20-year old catcher Mario Valenzuela and a 3rd round draft pick to the New York Moneymen. In return, the Steamers will receive 28-year old starting pitcher Tomás Descalzo. Lifetime Descalzo has registered a 53-33 record with a 3.85 ERA. Tuesday, September 30th, 2014: Moneymen Third Baseman Out After the end of today's game between New York and Las Vegas, Ernesto Moreno skipped the clubhouse and headed straight for the doctor's office. After he was removed from the game as a precaution after running the bases, the Moneymen had their worst fears confirmed when it turned out to be more serious. The third baseman will miss at least 2 weeks with a strained medial collateral ligament. This season Moreno is swinging the bat at a .206 rate with 103 hits in 499 at-bats. To date he has hit 13 home runs, scored 58 runs and driven in 53. Friday, September 26th, 2014: Hernández Brilliant, Blanks Moneymen Carlos Hernández of the Central Valley Turkey Vultures was on fire against New York. He shut them down 4-0 on 1 hit and no runs with 10 strikeouts and 1 walk. "The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Hernández said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
