| Breaking News |  | Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014: Big Day with Bat, McGee 5-6 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Bill McGee. It was very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. McGee went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Wicker Park pitching.
When the dust settled on the diamond at The Litter Box, he had a career 5-6 day and something he will long remember. And the Muir Meercats had a 16-3 victory over the Devil Cats.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he laughed in the SION postgame interview.
B. McGee singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off E. Lopez in the 8th.
This season in 127 games McGee is batting .330 with 21 home runs, 112 RBIs and has scored 84 times. |  | Thursday, September 18th, 2014: 3 Roundtrippers for Byford William Byford went on a hitting rampage at Husqvarna Field today and got membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He walloped three into the stands to pace the Lumberjaxxx to a 7-6 victory over the Wicker Park Devil Cats.
The Ludington shortstop collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs.
After his three-home run game he said this to the press: "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."
W. Byford grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off S. Travis in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off S. Travis in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off C. Wynkoop in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
For 2014 Byford is hitting .306 with 28 home runs. His stats include 94 RBIs and 84 runs scored. |  | Monday, September 8th, 2014: PL Star of the Week Announced It was announced today that Wicker Park left fielder Oscar Zavala snagged the Patriotic League Player of the Week Award for his outstanding play last week.
He posted a .500 batting average as he collected 12 hits, 5 home runs and 10 RBIs.
Presently Zavala is batting .270 with 142 hits and 25 home runs.
