It is unknown at this time if there is any truth to the rumor that Great Black Swamp's Juan Jensen has asked his team for a trade. Insiders indicate the starting pitcher may not be happy with the club management. So far, the team's owners have refused to comment.

 | Monday, September 1st, 2014: Ramos Wins August's Rookie Award
Javier Ramos had a standout August and today received the Patriotic League Rookie of the Month trophy.
Last month the 26-year-old Great Black Swamp first baseman played in 28 games and hit .347 with 5 doubles, no triples and 6 home runs. Ramos also scored 16 times and drove in 16 runs.
Thus far this year Ramos is batting .273 with 14 home runs, 56 RBIs and 70 runs scored.

 | Saturday, August 16th, 2014: Miller Sizzles, Muir Fizzles
"He was too darn good for us today," grumbled the Muir manager after his club suffered a 6-0 shutout at the hands of Shane Miller of the Great Black Swamp Mud Hens. He held the Muir Meercats scoreless in a 3-hit whitewash.
Miller was in a zone of his own most of the game and finished with 8 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing.
In a postgame quote his own skipper added, "He pitched his butt off, had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. Shane did a whale of a pitching job."
Season-to-date Miller has rung up 6 wins and 10 losses in 24 appearances. He has an ERA of 4.72 and has fanned 81 batters in 137.1 innings.
