Jose Albacete really sizzled at the plate in today's 9-3 win over Fishers. The Oakland first baseman blistered Wildwood for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Albacete was too tough to get out today," the Fishers skipper said in the postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."
J. Albacete singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Albacete is batting at a .326 pace in 2014, picking up 181 hits in 555 at-bats with 23 home runs, 87 RBIs and 82 runs scored.

"He's mixing his pitches real well and keeping his composure on the mound," the Oakland manager said. "When Curtis does that, good things happen."
These comments came after Arthur Curtis and the Oakland Muggers shut out the Greenville 84s 2-0.
He had 5 strikeouts, no walks and allowed 3 hits.
This year-to-date Curtis has 11 wins and 8 losses and a 4.02 ERA.

"It was kinda freaky. Hopefully, I'll be back in the lineup soon," said a dejected Earl Butler after injuring himself in a game against Greenville. The Oakland manager told SION reporters, "He will miss up to 4 weeks with a fractured nose." The Muggers will have to decide over the next day or two whether the catcher will go on the disabled list.
So far this season Butler has 12 home runs and a .282 batting average.
