| Breaking News |  | Saturday, November 15th, 2014: Greenville and Newcastle Agree to Deal The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Greenville 84s sent 22-year old third baseman Nick Dean to the Newcastle House of Brews for 36-year old left fielder Robert Davis.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.
Davis has played in 1188 games with a .286 career batting average and 1329 hits. He also has scored 841 runs and driven in 601 runs with 184 home runs. |  | Thursday, November 6th, 2014: Wolcott Signs 3-Year Extension with Newcastle Flanked by team officials and his agent, Richard Wolcott announced that he'd agreed to terms with the House of Brews earlier today.
Officials declined to specify a salary publicly, but in private say the figure is $3,726,666 per year.
Lifetime Wolcott has played in 596 games with a .254 batting average. Among his 529 hits are 95 doubles, 7 triples and 95 home runs. He also has scored 277 runs and driven in 317 runs. |  | Saturday, November 1st, 2014: Steamers Triumph in 2014 National Patriotic Series It was a storybook year for the Edenton Steamers as they closed out a 4-2 series win over the Newcastle House of Brews to claim the 2014 National Patriotic Series. They wrapped it up with a 9-6 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 2nd championship.
The Steamers manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a National Patriotic Series."
"We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the House of Brews manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us."
