Phoenix announced that they have signed 29-year-old catcher Scottie Fajardo to a 3-year, $15,800,000 agreement that will have him playing at The Ashes for the foreseeable future.
Fajardo has collected 159 hits for the Phoenix this year, 6 of them home runs. He has also netted 55 RBIs and scored 71 runs while batting .265.

"I'm frustrated right now," said Phoenix reliever Jarrod Schroder. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Phoenix, that's where he will be spending the next 1-2 weeks. Schroder suffered a finger blister in today's game against Newcastle while throwing a pitch. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."
This year Schroder has 67 relief appearances, saving 4. His record is 8-5 with 77 strikeouts in 93.2 innings and a 3.94 ERA.
