His lightning swing and solid bat took the Thomas Jefferson League by storm. All week William Shepley of the Dublin Stout shocked opponents with an electrifying performance to capture the Thomas Jefferson League Player of the Week honors.
The talented third baseman sparked his team by hitting .435 with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
In 85 games this season Shepley has batted at a .292 pace with 105 hits and 14 home runs.

 | Sunday, July 13th, 2014: Dublin Reliever Hurt
A blow for Tony Abad today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 7 months with a torn tricep muscle. Abad suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Dublin Stout are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Abad's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.
Abad has gone to the hill for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-3 record with a 4.68 ERA. The Dublin reliever has limited opposing batters to a .268 batting average.

 | Friday, June 6th, 2014: O'Carroll 5-5 Against Dublin
It was a good day all around. Oklahoma City whipped Dublin 23-2 and Morton O'Carroll displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Centipedes Ballpark.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told SION reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Morton is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have, and vice versa."
The 27-year-old left fielder for the Twisters collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
M. O'Carroll singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off P. Mo in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off K. Gutierrez in the 5th and walked in the 7th.
So far in 2014 O'Carroll has hit .235 with 5 home runs and 30 RBIs. He has played in 58 games and scored 27 times.
