| Breaking News |  | Sunday, November 16th, 2014: Dominguez Nabs PL Roy Hobbs Award
It was a year of line drives, bloops and blasts for veteran Ray Dominguez of the Ludington Lumberjaxxx. The 26-year-old veteran strung up a .327 batting average and laid claim to the 2014 Patriotic League Roy Hobbs Award.
He racked up 200 hits, 31 doubles, no triples, 47 home runs, 137 RBIs and scored 139 times.
This weekend Dominguez will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.

 | Tuesday, November 4th, 2014: Lumberjaxxx and Cascio Come to Terms
The latest out of Ludington indicates that Lawrence Cascio has re-signed with the Lumberjaxxx and that the 26-year-old left fielder is set to earn $48,000,000 over a 4-year span.
Team officials tell SION the deal will be officially announced at a press conference tomorrow.
Cascio has a lifetime average of .321, played in 675 games and collected 130 home runs and 468 RBIs.

 | Monday, October 6th, 2014: Injury Forces Earl Johnson Out
It took the Ludington team doctor a while to realize it, but reliever Earl Johnson won't simply play through dead arm syndrome after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's 84s-Lumberjaxxx game. At first, it looked like Johnson might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 1-2 weeks. A spokesman for the club described the loss of Johnson as a blow, but was confident that he'd be back soon.
In 2014 Johnson has 33 relief appearances and a 4-2 record with 1 save. He has logged 47 innings and allowed 48 base hits. Opposing clubs have put up a .259 batting average against him. Johnson has rung up 29 strikeouts, surrendered 14 walks and fashioned a 5.17 ERA.
