| Breaking News |  | Saturday, September 27th, 2014: LCL's Premier Hitter for 2014 Named
Benedict Woods from Crestline was in a class by himself this year. Not only did he put up one of the most exciting offensive barrages of the year, but the 20-year-old also snared the coveted Outstanding Hitter Award.
He put up a .376 average, 112 hits, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 5 home runs and 31 RBIs during the 2014 campaign.
The annual SBWA awards banquet is this weekend. All of the major award winners will be there to be honored for their outstanding achievements this past season.

 | Saturday, September 27th, 2014: RRL Announces Top Batter Award
Dave Johnston had the sweet swing of success this year in the Rich Rodriguez League and captured the Outstanding Hitter Award award.
The Assassins left fielder stung opposing pitchers with a .383 batting average, collecting 2 home runs, 20 doubles, 3 triples, 106 hits, 43 RBIs and scored 55 runs.
For being named the RRL's top batter, Johnston will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

 | Friday, September 26th, 2014: Sidearms Star Receives Outstanding Pitcher Award
Dan Barnes of the Glendale Sidearms had a super season and has been rewarded with the Lloyd Carr League Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2014.
The Sidearms ace fashioned an ERA of 3.16 as he won 8 games, dropped only 6, fanned 54 and gave up 33 walks in 102.2 innings of work.
The SBWA will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.
